Flounder Mode by Brie Wolfson (quoting Kevin Kelly)

Why read this

Permission to build a meaningful life by following interests with joy rather than torturing yourself into greatness.

“Greatness is overrated. It’s a form of extremism, and it comes with extreme vices that I have no interest in.” — Kevin Kelly

I want to feel commitment and camaraderie and work hard and be my best… But I don’t want to also feel tormented or be tortured into greatness or look in the mirror and wonder why I suck. But what does that say about me? — Brie Wolfson

Building a meaningful life by following interests with joy, not by chasing traditional success or torturing yourself into greatness.

This has been an interesting thing to re-read as I go independent with my own company because as time is mine to spend however, I am slowly understanding what it means to work on things because I want to instead of it always having to produce a tangible result.
