First day full time on CodedConstructs. It’s a really strange feeling to be so free yet feel like time is running out. But I’m busier than ever because my head is full of things to do. I even started documenting the process in video and writing.

A rough timeline of myself
Sporadic updates on anything I found worth noting at the time.
As if coming back from Singapore wasn’t hectic enough, I resigned from my job and started serving out my notice period. I wanted to do this later but the timing was the best it could be, so I took the plunge. Actually wrote all about it here.
But this was an intense month, there were a lot of thoughts and feelings that needed to be processed leading to the decision and we were still getting settled in from Singapore.
Final month in Singapore before going back. It was a lot of dinners, lunches and good byes to the new people we’ve met. I thoroughly enjoyed my time here, not all of it was ideal and it was really intense at times but I’m glad I did it.
After three months of hotel stay though, I can’t tell you how much I am looking forward to my own bed and a stable gym routine. Oh, and to be able to cook again.
Some family stuff happened. It was intense but nothing like these sort of events to really feel that closeness. Because I had to reset my visa in Singapore, I flew home for a week and worked out of there, which was … interesting.
I have never actually been an adult around my parents before. Much less had to work in the same house as them. They are quite distracting. In a good and sometimes bad way. But it’s good to spend the time with them.
It’s a hell of a month. Been in Singapore for maybe 3 weeks now. Got setup at the “apartment”, it was a very small hotel room. Met new people in the Singapore office and just getting settled on moving around.
It’s been weird because it feels like home, yet so different. Someone once told me that Singapore is just a sanitized Malaysia and I couldn’t agree more.
Slow tempo coming back from the holidays. I was still handling a client, working full time and creating content. It was busy but I remember feeling sluggish. But that ended quite soon, because we were going to be in Singapore for the next 3 months.
So, the second half of the month was getting ready for it. Packing, making sure we have the things we need for this new permanent temporary home. But the bright side is being able to be closer to family.
Ah year end, normally this time, we travel quite a bit. and this year, we went back to Malaysia and went to the ice city of China, Harbin. It was a great trip because it was also the first time everyone on my side of the family came back, so it was really good to be “home” with everyone.
But of course what would the holidays be without some family drama, and there was plenty.
I have been writing online for a bit before this but it was sporadic stuff. There was productivity, there was some stuff on health, really it’s on all on Medium but it felt good to write but it didn’t feel like it would lead anywhere.
Then, this month I sent my first invoice to a client of mine, which felt really good, it felt like I could stand on my own for once you know. It was a small thing to get paid but it felt like, hey, maybe I don’t need to work for a company to do this.
That determination led to start telling people what I do on the side. It gave me aspirations on what the ideal work could look like.
When I told a stranger what I planned to do for the first time, it was liberating to be able to fully express how I think about work without worrying about what a company would think of my opinions
