Conditioning is good for the world but bad for me

Schools, parents and companies all shape how you think. Good for holding a society together, lonely if you don't fit it.

When we are young, we go to schools guided by people on what children should learn. Teachers punish us based on their moral compass. Our parents reward or punish us based on what they think is right in the world. And sometimes they do that emotionally rather than objectively too.

As such, none of really ever experience the pure truth about the world. It’s always a flavour of how we grew up and the people around us.

Now, that’s great from a society point of view. You have an entire tribe of people that think and operate the same way. It’s why companies have HR, policies and values. It’s to encourage, sometimes force a certain way of thinking.

But this goes against us as individuals because it makes us feel lonely sometimes. Especially if society is forcing you into something that you don’t believe in. The LGBTQ movement is one of them. The black movement is one of them too. That society is literally against how these people exist.
