What you tell yourself about you is the most important thing

Okay, I fucked up, let's move on. Not beating yourself up, but not blaming everyone else either.

I have read about this many times but only recently again in Clear Thinking.

How we tell ourselves about ourselves is really important. If we beat ourselves up, then we are always in a negative mindset. It’s a bad deal and a downwards spiral.

But if we tell ourselves a good story, not blaming others (luck, circumstances, other people) and that’s important, we can put ourselves in a better mindset.

It’s a fine balance here, the idea is to think positively, to focus on the next move, not beating ourselves up. At the same time, we don’t want to a story that shifts the blame on others.

We want a “Okay, I fucked up, let’s move on. What can we do from here ? Where can we go ? You’ve accomplished great things before, this isn’t any different” mindset.
