Why Nihilism doesn't feel good

Any idiot can pick a time frame where nothing matters. I do it myself, and something beats nothing.

There will always be people better than you—that’s a cliché of nihilism, like the phrase, In a million years, who’s going to know the difference? The proper response to that statement is not, Well, then, everything is meaningless. It’s, Any idiot can choose a frame of time within which nothing matters. Talking yourself into irrelevance is not a profound critique of Being. It’s a cheap trick of the rational mind.

People who give up because they think it’s pointless, because what’s they chose the a frame of mind that makes them feel powerless. It’s an excuse to make themselves feel better.

I fall into this quite often, 3 days left in a week, what’s the point of working out ? Well, I should overcome that because something is better than nothing.
