There’s nothing much to say on this. It’s beloved for a reason.
The storytelling is just nuts, even if the fight scenes suck. What weighs on me most is the sense of duty, of doing the right thing when the world gives you nothing back for it.
My biggest lesson here though is understanding just how long the hero’s journey is.
It’s easy to cower in fear, to hide in what’s comfortable. But if you need to do something hard, it just has to get done. Frodo’s journey to destroy the ring is a lesson in doing hard things, and in holding on to hope when things are dark, and acting on morality instead of the immediate pleasures.
