Avoid the delivery trap
The better you get at delivering, the more that becomes the only thing they judge you on.
Because of Vagueness prevents you from moving forward in companies and Hours is what companies use to measure you. It’s important to have something that you can use to promote and defend your value.
The worst way to do this is delivery. As in the faster and better you get at delivery, the more they will only judge you on delivery. That’s why management can get paid so well because they always have a narrative to spin.
It’s vague and people have no real way to measure your impact if you’re managing because there isn’t a number they can tie your performance to.
