You can bring more impact than the person beside you. Without more hours, you won't be paid more.
It almost doesn’t matter what impact or extra value you bring to the company. As long as you’re meeting the bare minimum of not getting fired, they don’t value you more.
You can bring in way more impact and value than someone else of the same level as you but as long as you don’t have more time on them, you don’t get paid more nor do you get given more.

Remember, owners aren’t paying their employees for completing specific tasks with obvious value. They’re paying for laborers to show up and do whatever an owner or faux owner tells them to do.
